Gentle Traces: A Festival of Experimental Music

March 2018 marks A Place to Listen’s 50th concert milestone! To celebrate, we are organizing the three-day festival “Gentle Traces: A Festival of Experimental Music,” featuring special guest artist Antoine Beuger (Germany) and the APTL Ensemble.

Antoine’s music has been a significant inspiration for APTL, and we are excited to give Victoria listeners a rare opportunity to hear this extraordinary musician live. Antoine is a world-renowned composer, flutist, teacher, and concert presenter, as well as the director of Edition Wandelweiser.

Festival Schedule

Thurs. Mar. 22, 2018, 7 p.m.
This concert will feature the world premiere of a new work by Kristy Farkas, alongside works by Antoine Beuger and other members of the Wandelweiser community. Performed by the full APTL Ensemble and Beuger.

Fri. Mar. 23, 2018, 7 p.m.
Guest artist Antoine Beuger is programming and performing this solo concert, which will be followed by an artist’s talk by Beuger.

Sat. Mar. 24, 2018, 2:30 p.m.
This concert will feature works that utilize text/poetry in various forms and include the world premiere of a new work by Daniel Brandes, as well works by Antoine Beuger. Performed by Antoine Beuger and APTL Ensemble members Daniel Brandes, Laura Brandes, and Kristy Farkas.
