Invitation to Sunday's table
Are you feeling the weight of the news this week? The unspeakable attack in New Zealand, the Ethiopian Air disaster, Brexit anxiety, the SNC-Lavalin affair, and our news feeds (however you digest them) offer up a relentless unnourishing diet of international tensions, human tragedy and global environmental concerns. Sunday morning church services, meditation and prayer don't make all that disappear. It's not a magic pill for the ills of the world. It is however a way for you to recenter -- an opportunity for you to hear familiar words and music, gather with people who also carry the same weight and pain as you do and find release there. Karen's message from last Sunday is online - well worth a second listen - and you are encouraged to make use of the Lent Meditation series offered by your Worship Team. You will find them both a rich part of your weekly spiritual practices. As you choose from the many ways to connect with your church community this week, breathe in God's Light and be kind and gentle -- first with yourself and then others. Gordon |

A favour to ask ...take a walk on the web We have been working to keep the James Bay United web site current and also make effective use of some of the new features offered by our web provider. Rather than listing all the things that are upcoming in this email, your communications team is asking that you take a bit of a walk around your web site. Test out the links, push some buttons, go to the news and events page. AND if you have time dig deeper on some of the smaller menus. What you like, what you think needs updating can be sent to Gordon in an email to: communication.jbuc@gmail.com Your web site is a powerful resource for you and your church. Let us know what's working and what needs fixing. Thanks. Your Communications Team For more infomation visit:
