outward facing
This week Karen and I started the installation of our 'Hope - Peace - Joy - Love' banner outside the church. It is as beautiful and striking as we remembered from last year. I recall last year while putting up the Peace sign for Advent 2, a parent stopped and explained to their youngster that this was part of the 4 weeks leading up to Christmas. And just like their Advent calendar at home the signs on the outside of the church would signal the coming of something very special. It is heartening to hear how our outward facing words, signs and actions support and encourage peoples spiritual lives beyond the walls of our sanctuary. Whether you're in the building tomorrow or walking by on the street, may your journey be blessed with peace. Gordon |
An Invitation to Advent - 2PEACE We have added a recording of Linnea Good's 'Hope is a Candle on our Journey' to our web page for you to listen to and sing-a-long with at home. It is an up beat joy-filled expression of hope for our journey to Christmas. The 'bridge' of the song is interesting for both it's lyrics and music: For we are a people of a story Linnea's full CD "Sometimes Christmas" would be a beautiful addition to your collection at home and is available through her website - both physical copies and digital downloads.
