Dear Tuesday Night Jazz at the Church friends.
Thank you for being a part of our Tuesday family. So often I hear from you about how it's a special and welcoming space for you to be, and how much you look forward to witnessing the variety of artists that share their music.

This Tuesday is something very special because the large ensemble is here. Six outstanding musicians celebrating the music of Wayne Shorter, who passed away this year on March 2nd. This is a night that you want to invite friends to join you. The music, the meaning, and the magic will all be present for you and because of you.

See you on Tuesday.

A Tribute to Wayne Shorter

A Tribute to Wayne Shorter

Tuesday, April 18th at 7pm: Honouring the music and legacy of Wayne Shorter

For this special concert, we have assembled an all-star sextet of some of the West Coast’s finest musicians including Juno-nominated bassist Ken Lister, virtuoso pianist Nick Peck, renowned tenor saxophonist Ryan Oliver, alto and tenor saxophonist Roy Styffe, Drummer Kelly MacNayr and special guest trumpeter Daniel Lapp!

Wayne Shorter was an integral member of Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers, Miles Davis' Second Great Quintet, fusion band Weather Report, Steely Dan, Herbie Hancock, Joni Mitchell and countless other legendary musical projects of the last 50 years.

We celebrate Wayne’s life and musical legacy by performing a number of his key compositions and sharing our love of the man and the music.
