I look forward to hearing new sounds and meeting new people at Tuesday Night Jazz at the Church. This week, Avram on his banjo, who is a rich and authentic storyteller and has such a passion for traditional jazz, is bringing with him some great musical friends. When I spoke to Avram on the phone this week he said:

“I want to bring a new sound to Tuesday Night Jazz. I love the venue and yes Gordon, I will bring the Capital City Syncopators back in the New Year, but this time I wanted to treat you to something fresh and different. I know your Tuesday crowd is going to love it.”

Avram McCagherty leads this all star quintet of the finest traditional jazz players in the Pacific Northwest. Drawing inspiration from the genesis of jazz in New Orleans the band will excite with beautiful repertoire, hot syncopated rhythm and novel instrumentation ( yes, we are planning on having 2 bass saxophones! ).
