thank you for attending in person
Dear Tuesday Night Jazz fans, followers, supporters and contributors - whew that's a mouthful. This week’s write-up about the performers for May 17th is long for good reason. The assembled group is a special project of some of Canada’s best talent, performing original works at one of the finest ‘listening venues’ in the city. Acoustically, the James Bay United Church Sanctuary makes listening to unamplified live performances a joy. The musicians can hear each other so clearly and this makes for a musical interaction between artists that is magical. The closeness of the audience plays such an important role as you are attentive and not distracted by conversation around you and the serving of food and drinks. The musicians know you are listening and they attend to you - they perform for you and are fed by your response to them. We're regularly told how much they enjoy playing for you at Tuesday Night Jazz at the Church. While we very much want to have a great turn out for the Cross-Canada Quintet, (and we are asking you to show up in force this Tuesday) we hope that you will continue to support Tuesday Night Jazz in person as often as possible - invite your friends and help us by sharing our live-streamed shows and social media. Thanks to you attending in person, this year alone we have put over $12,000 in the hands of local musicians. For more infomation visit:

Gordon's pick from last TuesdayMonaco Lachlan Craven gave us a great night of jazz last week and I particularly loved the fact that he was on stage with his father - their interaction and shared love of the music was palpable. Lachlan played his passion for Kenny Dorham and at the link below you can listen to him perform the tune Monaco. KENNY DORHAM
