Tuesday Night Jazz PresentsThe Attila Fias Trio + Tuesday, October 18th at 7 PM Hungarian-born pianist Attila Fias has earned an international reputation performing in traditional and modern jazz contexts as well as Brazilian Bossa Nova and World Music. Acclaimed pianist, band-leader and composer, he has performed and recorded across the country with some of the finest musicians in jazz both as a leader and collaborator. For this special concert, Attila brings together the wonderful alto saxophonist Roy Styffe with bassist Scott White and Drummer Kelby MacNayr to explore music by the great Jazz pianists. Featuring music from Bill Evans, Oscar Peterson, Duke Ellington, Fats Waller, Chick Corea and more! Masks required on the main floor, masks optional in balcony. Qigong and Taijiquan (Tai Chi) with Curtis NadjA weekly introductory course in these traditional arts - Wednesday, October 19, 2022 Wednesdays: 9am - 10:30am, Lower Hall A weekly introductory course in the traditional arts of Qigong and Taijiquan (Tai Chi) with teacher Curtis Nadj. Beginning Wednesday, October 5th and ongoing weekly, this class will offer participants the opportunity to explore the practices of Qigong and Taijiquan from the foundation level to cultivate a personal practice of physical and emotional health and well-being. This is an excellent time to learn from a unique and valuable lineage in unbroken cultural tradition. Classes will include Qigong practice followed by elements of Chen and Yang style Tajiquan (Tai Chi). Come to the first session and register in person. $45/month payable to the instructor

Fall Kids Reading Fest3 local authors share their books - Saturday, October 29, 2022 Saturday, October 29th, 2022: 2 - 4pm Buildings, clouds and snuffleworts James Bay United brings 3 local authors together to read from their newest (or favourite) books. These readings will delight children and their adults alike. Our renowned local authors - Gregor Craigie, Rob ‘Lucky’ Budd and Jean Paetkau - will create a magical space for you to build lasting rich memories with your children.
