In worship, we affirm that God’s love is good, and that each and every one is worthy of love. Even our Communion will reflect the universality of that love. Celebrating Our Roots
This Pentecost Sunday, which beautifully coincided with the 100th Anniversary of the United Church of Canada, we honoured our rich diversity with a multilingual prayer — not only in English, but also in Ukrainian, Armenian, Hindi, and French — and shared beloved traditional dishes from our families and cultures during a vibrant potluck lunch. Baptisms in the Pacific Ocean

We welcomed Robin, Maximus, and Sebastian into the Community of Christ through baptism in the refreshing waters of the Pacific Ocean (with little Max stealing the show). Pride Film ScreeningJune 15 at 1 pm This Sunday, we honour Pride with a special worship service celebrating diversity, justice, and inclusion. Afterward, we’ll share soup and sandwiches and gather in the sanctuary for a 1pm screening of The Fruit Machine — a powerful documentary on Canada’s LGBTQ2S+ history. Admission is by donation. James Bay United Church is part of a sponsorship group working to bring them safely to Canada, but delays in the final steps of the process, combined with alarming new government edicts in Pakistan, have put their safety at serious risk.
