Sunday WorshipNovember 23, 10:15 am This coming Sunday has been variously labeled: “Christ the King Sunday,” “Reign of Christ Sunday,” and “Christian New Year’s Eve” (because it is the last Sunday before the Christian year begins with Advent next week). Rev. Maggie Enwright, currently serving as Acting Regional Minister, will be joining us to help celebrate the occasion and mark the day. Maggie invites us all to reflect on what kind of “king” Jesus was and is, and whether such an image is relevant for us in the church today. Come to the Cabaret!November 23, 4-5:30 pm Gary and Anne Relyea, singers of opera and popular music, are presenting a cabaret full of variety and theatricality at James Bay United Church. They are joined by talented singing and dancing friends, plus two internationally known singers for a surprise at the end of the show. Enjoy every word and note performed with passion… and generous doses of comedy! Admission is by donation. Proceeds will be donated to Doctors Without Borders (MSF) and the Canadian Orca Rescue Society. |
