Planning Wisely and Dreaming Faithfully

Each fall, we pause to reflect on all that God has done through our shared ministry—and to look ahead with faith to the year to come. Our annual Thanksgiving Appeal is a time to prayerfully consider how each of us can contribute to the life and mission of James Bay United Church.

This year, however, we didn’t ask for donations. Instead, we asked for pledges—a commitment to what you plan to give in the coming year.

And what a commitment you made!

A Bold but Beautiful Goal
We asked you to take a bold step of faith with a goal of $115,500 in tithes and weekly or monthly donations for 2026.
Together, across our many congregants, we surpassed that goal with $116,987 in total pledges for next year.

Growing Into Who God Is Calling Us to Be
Over 4,059 collective volunteer hours helped James Bay United Church move toward our vision.

Many of you also shared what inspires you to give to James Bay United Church. Stay tuned in the weeks ahead for reflections we hope you’ll find moving and encouraging!

During coffee time throughout the 3-week Thanksgiving Appeal, we continued exploring the theme of giving. We asked you to consider why people might choose to give to James Bay United Church, and you “voted” by placing tokens into jars labelled with reasons that resonated with you.
