Sunday Worship: Mother's DayMay 10, 10:30–11:30 This Sunday, Mothers Day, we combine two motifs: mothers (and mothering) and healing. We read a pair of stories of Jesus offering healing and challenge ourselves to see ourselves in these stories: how is God currently healing us? how are we healing others? And what if a new level of healing ability were to be available to us. Please note that our Sunday Service begins at 10:30. You are warmly invited to gather with us from 10:15 am, in our Sanctuary or online, for a time of musical reflection. For more infomation visit:

Special Mother's Day Concert w/Tiny Rhythm KingsMay 10, 2:00–3:30 pm This Sunday afternoon, join us for a very special Tiny Rhythm Kings Mother’s Day concert featuring classics by Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Bing Crosby, Nat King Cole, and more! Drummer/vocalist Kelby MacNayr leads an all-star band through the swinging sounds of classic jazz, joined by sensational guitarist Andrew Janusson and jazz organist Dr. Tony Genge. A renowned drummer, MacNayr has performed across Canada and the US with leading musicians ranging from Arnt Arntzen to Louise Rose, from Terell Stafford to George Colligan, and from John Clayton to Campbell Ryga. A deep love and respect for the magic of this music has led MacNayr to study the art form with some of its greatest living masters, including drummers Jeff Hamilton, Alan Jones, and Joe LaBarbera, as well as vocalists Louise Rose, Marion Cowings, and Barbara Blair. Expect to feel good. Expect your toes to tap, your spirits to lift, and to share in a wonderful time of classic jazz — live and without a net! "Who Do You Think You Are?": Free Screening and DiscussionMay 24, 6:45 pm, UVic Multifaith Centre Alan Baiss and Joseh Garcia are two Canadian documentary filmmakers offering a series of screenings across Western Canada, with a stop in Victoria on Sunday, May 24th. Yes, We Know We’re Competing with the Victoria Symphony… But
If you’ve made it this far through the ENews and still doubt whether to visit our Mother’s Day show — or our Sunday Jazz Matinees in general — take a quick look at how Toni Blodgett’s CanUs burnt the stage last Sunday. Seven stars on one stage playing traditional New Orleans tunes — that was really something!
