New Forest Act Roadshow

New Forest Act Roadshow

June 22, 7:00 pm, Broad View United Church 3703 St. Aidan’s St

Jennifer Houghton, Campaign Director of the New Forest Act initiative, will present a practical, citizen-developed proposal designed to replace BC’s current forestry framework. The New Forest Act would:

– Protect critical watersheds and primary forests
– Restore degraded areas
– Maintain a working forest within ecological limits
– Support more stable, long-term regional economies

Across BC, communities are facing increasing wildfire risk, water concerns, and ongoing uncertainty in the forest sector. This presentation — delivered in Jennifer’s down-to-earth and focused style — lays out a concrete path forward based on ecological limits and long-term stability.
