This Sunday we consider earth and so we read a few snippets from different parts of the Bible. God unites with us through earth – whether in the garden, through mountaintop experiences, walking barefoot, or simply remembering that all of the complexity of our bodies, minds, and beings eventually ends up as broken down organic matter in the soil. Refugee Sponsorship Update as of September 15, 2025Afghan Refugee Family in Pakistan Our Committee continues to work diligently with MP Will Greaves to help expedite the refugee family’s case, and try to get them to Canada and safety. Unfortunately, their situation in Islamabad grows more precarious, with denial of education and threats to their housing. There’s an upcoming opportunity to help: Making Dreams Come True Fundraiser Event on Saturday, September 27, 7:00–9:00 pm. Jennifer’s Note on the Classical Concert SeriesOriginally planned for September 19 – postponed Dear friends, Thank you for attending our Classical Concert Series at James Bay United. Our planning for the next performance is in the works. We previously announced that the date would be Friday, September 19th, to coincide with the Fall Equinox. We are not quite ready for that date. The Neighbourhood Labyrinth Celebration in Irving ParkSeptember 22, 6:30–7:10 pm, Irving Park Musicians led by Jennifer Turner will fill this special place in Irving Park with magical sounds, and lyrics will be provided to help you join in.
