Coastline Concerts Presents: Guitarists Jesse Marshall & Misha SmirnovSaturday, June 13, 7:00–8:30 pm Two of Vancouver Island's finest guitarists Jesse Marshall & Misha Smirnov present an evening of solo & duo performances. Jesse & Misha were recently finalists in the 2026 Northwest Guitar Festival, hosted here in Victoria. Jesse Marshall is a guitarist and composer from Nanaimo, BC. Active as a freelance guitarist since 2013, career highlights include performances at the Nanaimo Jazz Festival, Nanaimo Guitar Showcase, and Island Notes Chamber Music Festival. Misha Smirnov began studying the guitar at age 10 in Russia. He is an active local performer who is known for his warm tone and inspired interpretations. Tickets: $20 at the door or $25 online.

Featuring the legendary pianist and vocalist Ms. Louise Rose, bassist Joey Smith, and drummer/vocalist Kelby MacNayr, the Great American Songbook Trio is a tour de force of jazz. Celebrating the limitless possibilities of melody, harmony, rhythm, and text, the trio brings to life some of the classic compositions of the Great American Songbook with heart, soul, and the in-the-moment essence that has earned them an international reputation. Ryan Oliver Organ Trio Plays "Tunes People Like" — A Live RecordingTuesday, June 16, 7:00–8:30 pm Tuesday Night Jazz at the Church proudly presents Juno-nominated saxophonist and flutist Ryan Oliver in an all-star trio featuring Dr. Tony Genge on B3 organ and Juno Award-winning Vancouver drummer Joe Poole, as they record a live album at James Bay United Church! Born in Williams Lake, British Columbia, Ryan's early love of jazz was something of a unique flavour in the northern British Columbia music scene. Over many years of touring the globe and living and performing everywhere from Toronto to Amsterdam to New York City, Ryan has learned that there are some songs that simply have a universal appeal to jazz artists and audiences alike. The group will perform Oliver's Tunes People Like, a set of familiar songs you're sure to recognize and enjoy. Sam Tudor Live in Victoria (Opening Set by Elbow Kiss)Friday, June 19, 7:30–9:00 pm Join us for an inspiring evening of music and community as we welcome Vancouver-based art rock artist Sam Tudor, originally from Gavin Lake, BC to James Bay United Church. An award-winning indie and art rock musician, Sam creates songs that are thoughtful, catchy, original, and deeply authentic. Following in the tradition of innovative Canadian and local art rock acts such as Arcade Fire, Himalayan Bear, and Elephant Island, he brings together influences from jazz, rock, and folk to create a sound that feels both timeless and fresh. This special concert celebrates creativity, inclusion, and community through the arts while offering a welcoming space for younger generations in the beautiful sanctuary of James Bay United Church. The evening will also feature Elbow Kiss as the opening act. The suggested ticket price for this show is $25 per person. However, no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
