Special for Earth Day10:15–10:30 am

Join us for a beautiful pre-service offering of nature poetry read by Karen Dickey and music performed by Jennifer Turner.

10:30–11:30 am

This week we celebrate International Earth Day by focusing on our deep, primordial connection with creatures, plants and the land. We hear from Job, who tells us to actively seek wisdom directly from Nature. His words raise questions as to how a human could possibly learn from a being who is other-than-human, particularly for those of us raised in a modern Western culture. In response, we’ll turn to science, scripture, mysticism and mythology to explore our ancient, intrinsic kinship with the natural world and move us to live fully within our shared divinity.

Presiding: Anne Manikel
Tech Team: Nathan McDormand, Jamie Waters, Alan Thurston
Scripture Reading: (Luke 24:13-35)

Our worship each Sunday is intended to be a collective experience, a communal practice. We might step into whatever is our sanctuary, each one of us as individuals, and yet as we assemble, from wherever we are, we become a people, drawn together through song and prayer, through word and ritual, and through the Spirit who breathes through it all, through us all. One and the same Spirit uniting us breathing us into life!
