Tuesday Night Jazz at the Church presents Música do Brasil featuring Sara Marreiros, Pablo, Cardenas and more!

Música do Brasil brings the scintillating rhythms of Brazil to Tuesday Night Jazz! Incredible vocalist Sara Marreiros and Cuban pianist extraordinaire Pablo Cardenas join bassist Peter Dowse and drummer Kelby MacNayr to perform classics of Brazilian bossa nova, samba and more.

This veritable supergroup of West Coast performers draws on a deep love of traditional Brazilian music, jazz, contemporary music and world music influences.

Vocalist Sara Marreiros has performed around the world, singing jazz, Portuguese fado, Brazilian samba and MPB. A graduate of the esteemed Esquimalt High School jazz program, Sara continued her studies at McGill University before launching her career and performing across North America.

Cuban virtuoso pianist Pablo Cardenas has earned a reputation as one of the finest performers on the West Coast. His music draws on his classical piano training in Cuba, his background as one of the most respected bandleaders in Cuban popular music of his generation, and his extensive study of contemporary jazz piano in North America.

Bassist Peter Dowse is in demand across virtually every style of music imaginable. Having toured the world before settling here in Victoria, Peter brings heart, soul and groove to every performance. He is a frequent collaborator with Kelby MacNayr, Miguelito Valdés, Pablo Cardenas and many other leading musicians.
