The extraordinary saxophonist Michael Blake spent his early years on Canada’s West Coast before becoming one of New York City’s most eclectic and in-demand tenor saxophonists.
He has worked with a long list of American jazz greats in a dazzling array of styles — from the Lounge Lizards to Neil Sedaka — and with some of the most compelling and respected musicians in straightahead and avant-garde jazz, including Kenny Werner, Jeff Ballard, and countless others.
Michael has an extensive recorded discography, featuring numerous award-winning albums as a leader, along with countless recordings as a collaborator and sideman.
For this special performance, Michael teams up with bassist Scott White, pianist Dr. Tony Genge, and drummer Kelby MacNayr to celebrate the art and joy of jazz collaboration!
