Tuesday Night Jazz at the Church proudly presents Avram McCagherty and Friends!
Avram Devon McCagherty is one of Victoria’s most well-loved musicians. Fluent in a dizzying array of musical styles — from his early days in folk music, Irish musical traditions, and Gypsy Jazz under the tutelage of legendary guitarist Marc Atkinson, to Traditional Jazz under the guidance of friend and mentor, legendary banjo player and early jazz historian Borgy Borgeson — Avram has forged a musical identity all his own.
A leader of numerous musical ventures, including the beloved Capital City Syncopators, the Stomp Club, and the Avram McCagherty Trio, Avram is also an indispensable member of groups such as the Yiddish Columbia State Orchestra, CANUS, and more.
In this special presentation, Avram brings together longtime musical friends and Victoria music legends, violinist Richard Moody and bassist Glen Manders.
