Tuesday Night Jazz at the Church proudly presents the Attila Fias / Al Pease Quartet!

Date: Tuesday, May 12, 2026
Time: 7:00–8:30 pm
Location: James Bay United Church, 511 Michigan St.
Admission: by donation ($20 suggested donation, but all are welcome regardless of funds)

Join us for a very special Tuesday Night Jazz as the dynamic powerhouse and virtuoso pianist Attila Fias joins forces with the fantastic veteran clarinettist and saxophonist Al Pease!

Most commonly known for his virtuoso pianistic bravado and consummate band-leading — in everything from the music of Brazil to Led Zeppelin, from Hungarian folk music to the music of Herbie Hancock — Attila turns his lens toward the swinging classic jazz and early jazz stylings of Victoria’s own consummate clarinettist, Al Pease.

Clarinettist Al Pease is no stranger to Tuesday Night Jazz audiences. A regular favourite with band leaders such as Toni Blodgett, Kelby MacNayr, and Dan Lapp, Al has been beloved on the Victoria jazz scene for over 40 years as one of our finest clarinettists and tenor saxophonists.

Joining Attila and Al in this special concert are renowned bassist Louis Rudner and swinging drummer Matt Pease.

Louis Rudner first made a name for himself in Michigan before touring the world and eventually relocating to Victoria some years ago. Drummer Matt Pease grew up in the musical household of his father and learned the tricks of the trade performing from a young age in traditional jazz, country music, avant-garde, and more.

Join us for this special concert celebrating the music of early swing and jazz from the great Benny Goodman, Lester Young, Ben Webster, and countless others!
