Whitehorse-based, international touring pianist and composer Daniel Janke brings his special Winter Trio project to Tuesday Night Jazz!
Featuring music that is both enigmatic and universal, and stories and experiences both personal and collective, Janke weaves together compositions that explore the sonic and emotional possibilities of three distinctive instruments, and three distinctive artists.
Working from a shared interest in improvisation and musical storytelling, the trio of Daniel Janke, Scott White, and Kelby MacNayr is a living, breathing musical entity, finding its way through — and with — the musical magic of the moment.
Artist Bios:
Pianist Daniel Janke is a renowned composer and musical philosopher, working with some of the most accomplished and forward-thinking creative musicians both in Canada and abroad. Janke maintains a busy performing, composing, and touring schedule, working with artists across the globe. Inspired to both honour the tradition of the music and the spirit of authenticity, MacNayr performs in traditional jazz, standard jazz, and contemporary music across genres.
