Tuesday Night Jazz at the Church Presents the Sean Drabitt Quartet!

Bassist Sean Drabitt returns to the West Coast with an all-star quartet.

Victoria-born bassist Sean Drabitt has led a storied career, performing with the likes of Wynton Marsalis, Branford Marsalis, Kenny Wheeler, Hugh Fraser, Ellis Marsalis, Nicholas Payton, Eric Alexander, George Colligan, and many more.

A former protégé of legendary bassist John Clayton in the tradition of the upright bass in jazz, and also a virtuoso electric bassist in the tradition of the great Jaco Pastorius, Sean Drabitt brings a wealth and breadth of musical experience to the bandstand.

Having spent years living and working in New Orleans and New York City, followed by stints in Seoul, South Korea, Drabitt has recently returned to Canada’s West Coast for a visit and assembled some of his longtime musical comrades.

Featuring the renowned, brilliant, and introspective stylings of pianist Brent Jarvis, the straight-ahead virtuosity of drummer John Lee, and the youthful exuberance and swinging wisdom of tenor saxophonist Cole Ashley, this quartet delivers adventurous, swinging, world-class mainstream jazz.
