Tuesday Night Jazz at the Church proudly presents the Great American Songbook Trio in celebration of Black History Month.
Featuring three members of Victoria‘s jazz royalty, Ms. Louise Rose, Joey Smith on bass and Kelby MacNayr, the Great American Songbook Trio celebrates Black History Month with a concert exploring themes of African-American influence, history and music making.
In this special concert, Ms. Louise Rose guides us in a concert celebrating the roots and practice of Jazz music making, the history of the music, its people and how the music lives and connects us all today.
Ms. Rose draws on her incredible personal musical history - including studies under the great Oscar Peterson, Duke Ellington and Todd Duncan (Porgy) and performance with Ray Charles, Ray Brown, Ella Fitzgerald and many more - to share the practice of authentic music making, personal expression and human communication that brings this art form to life.
