Whitehorse-based pianist and composer Daniel Janke has led an international career performing and recording original works for solo piano and trio for the last two decades. A gifted composer and improviser, Janke brings a unique compositional perspective to his work as a band leader and collaborator. His work is both rhythmic and texture, rooted in tradition and boldly exploring new territories.
In this special trio presentation, Janke joins together with longtime musical collaborators, drummer James McRae and bassist Scott White.
Originally honing their craft as young musicians on the West Coast scene, White and McRae were part of the legendary trio Black, White, McRae featuring pianist Miles Black as well as groups such as Loose featuring Marc Atkinson and Daniel Lapp.
