The day kicks off at 8:30 am with a delicious Pancake Breakfast. And right from the start, you’ll be greeted by the lively tunes of our amazing fiddling duo, Alice (7) and Amy (10) Swartz. These talented sisters are well-known to regulars of Government Street, where their joyful performances draw smiles and applause. 

Led by Jennifer Turner, our Music Minister. This workshop is perfect for all levels, especially those who love to sing but want to grow their confidence in a safe, supportive environment. No singing experience is necessary.

Beginner, introductory swing dance lesson with a fabulous Joel and Louise Schwarz plus music by Kelby MacNayr and Friends featuring alto saxophonist Roy Styffe, pianist Dr. Tony Genge and bassist John Mossie.

Music for little ones and family: so many of your favourite songs! From Baby Beluga to Baby Shark and the whole Shark Family.

This special program has been prepared for ages 4 to 8, but people of all ages will feel welcome.

The crowning event of THE GREAT BIG Open House — a grand finale for people with a taste for good music and good jokes.

Featuring comedian Sally Murphy — pianist Brent Jarvis — drummer Kelby MacNayr — piano-and-vocals legend Louise Rose — classical vocalist Jennifer Turner with pianist Christine Chepyha — blues harmonica player Daniel Morel — and many more

If you’re able to come a little earlier – around 9:45 am – you’re warmly invited to gather outside with Jennifer & Gordon. Together we’ll lift up some of our favourite spiritual songs, a chance to inspire ourselves and one another before worship begins. It’s a simple, joyful way to set the tone for our Communion Sunday and to carry the spirit of THE GREAT BIG Open House into our service.

During the Service we read the prophet Jeremiah understanding of us as clay and God as the potter. He implores us to allow ourselves to be moulded by God for good rather than evil, which sounds easy but maybe it isn’t quite so. Jeremiah, relating a message from God, has some harsh words for nations that refuse to be shaped by love and a message of peace for others.
