Jennifer is a classical soprano, music teacher, and arts administrator. She started singing in the United Church as a choral scholar at First Met and sang there from 2016 - 2018. From 2018 - 2020, she lived in Winnipeg and sang with the Westminster United Choir. Jennifer then moved back to Victoria where she worked as a singer at Fairfield United before joining James Bay United as their music leader in May 2022. She is delighted to be expanding her music leadership skills beyond singing.
Outside of JBUC, Jennifer has many hats. She performs as a soloist and has been fortunate to perform as the soprano soloist with musical organizations throughout Western Canada including Victoria Baroque, Pacific Opera Victoria, Manitoba Underground Opera, the Victoria Philharmonic Choir, and the Okanagan Festival Singers.
In addition to performing, Jennifer is on the voice faculty at the Victoria Conservatory of Music where she also coordinates the Vocal Collegium Program and is the Administrative Coordinator for the Voice Department. She completed a M. Mus from the University of Manitoba and a Dip. Mus from the Victoria Conservatory of Music where she studied with Nancy Argenta and Ingrid Attrot. Outside of music, Jennifer completed a B.A. in French Literature from UVic and an M.A. in Cultural Studies from Queen's University. She has lived and worked across Canada and internationally in Japan and France.
In her free time, she loves to play tennis, hike, and read a book with her cat nearby.
