Colleen is a Board Member at James Bay United Church and among many volunteer roles that she takes on, Colleen is the Chair of the Worship Team. We thank her for her commitment and dedication, and for this moving testimony about what "Opening Doors to God's Love" means to her.

This Sunday marks the beginning of the Fourth week in Lent, that season that is all about deepening in the way of love.  This week’s focus:  Justice – love in action that seeks to right the wrongs.  We’ll be celebrating the sacrament of communion … that practice of table fellowship that somehow joins us with Jesus, who makes a place at the table for everyone.  If you are joining on-line you may wish to have some bread and wine or juice with you as you settle into the service.

- Elvira reminds us to wear our name tags at church (if you have one) ... this is really helpful as you are coming forward for communion, so we can address you personally and properly. If you don't have a name tag, remind us to get you one ... we are working on it. 

- I was privileged to hear Jennifer Turner in the sanctuary today preparing for tomorrow's worship. It was beautiful - you are in good musical hands for Sunday's service. 

If you haven't met her yet, here is a brief note from Jennifer to say hello: "I am delighted to be making music at James Bay United this month. Over the past 6 years, I have enjoyed singing with several churches including Fairfield United, Victoria First Met and Westminster United in Winnipeg. I am a classically trained soprano with an M. Mus in vocal performance from the University of Manitoba and a Dip. Music from the Victoria Conservatory of Music where I now teach as part of the voice faculty. I also play some piano and am a newbie harpist (having taken it up last Fall!). I love tennis and swimming and live with a beautiful cat."
