A Gesture Toward Reconciliationplan to attend and learn more In June we’ll receive our property tax notice for our Thrift Shop. As with other City of Victoria property owners, we’ll receive, along with the notice, an invitation to contribute to the Reconciliation Grant, the money going to the Songhees and Esquimalt Nations. Rather than making a contribution on the congregation’s behalf, the Board decided to convene a congregational conversation, inviting a wider sense of sharing in this gesture toward reconciliation. That conversation will happen this Sunday, following the service, in person at the church, and by zoom for those participating online. We’ll have information about the grant, what’s involved in making a contribution, and time to wonder about our role in highlighting the opportunity in the neighbourhood. |

An Introduction to Mindfulness MeditationWith Kam McKim - Sunday, May 15, 2022 Consider this an opportunity to open into new life this Easter Season. No experience necessary! And if you are looking for a refresher or companionship in the practice, this would be ideal. The series involves breathing methods, guided imagery, and other practices to ground the body, open the heart, clear the mind, and help reduce stress. A portion of each session will involve some teaching. The remainder will be an experience of the practice itself. Leadership: Kam McKim, by zoom 5 Sundays, 3:45-5pm, beginning May 1 Register: karenmckim2@gmail.com |
