Sunday WorshipSunday, September 3rd: 10:15am In Person and LiveStreamed This morning it is our delight to welcome the Reverend Hilde Seal into our midst as she begins 6 months of accompanying and leading us as our Supply Minister. We will have an opportunity to hear something of Hilde’s first memories of the Sacred, of her ideas about Community, of what excites her about the prospect of journeying with us here at James Bay United. Communion will also be part of our worship experience this Sunday, so if you are joining on-line, you are invited to prepare for yourself food and drink of your choice as we all gather together “around the table”. Tuesday Night Jazz at the Church presentsTuesday, September 5th at 7pmAs the final concert in our Young Artist Series, we welcome saxophonist, bandleader and composer Rowan Farintosh who brings together a quartet of some of the city’s finest young musicians exploring original music, jazz standards and new arrangements. Join us for a wonderful night of music celebrating some of our young artists in the time-honoured tradition of mentorship through performance in the intimate and beautiful acoustic sanctuary at James Bay United Church! Swing and Tea at James Bay UnitedSaturdays: 4 - 6pm in the Lower Hall The Arts Ministry of James Bay United Church cordially invites you to join us Saturday afternoons beginning September 9, 2023 in the lower hall for a social time to build and celebrate community and the arts! Join us for a fun filled afternoon of live swing music with dancing and snacks. Everyone is welcome AND no dance experience is required! Feel free to tap your toes and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee, or get out on the dance floor, or dust off an old saxophone from the closet and sit in with the band on the second set. Admission by donation. ($5-20 suggested but all are welcome!) |

SingYourJoy Children's ChorusesThe SingYourJoy Children's Choruses (formerly the James Bay Children’s Chorus) was formed in September 2017 with a goal to provide a non-auditioned, affordable community choir for children and youth. Through weekly rehearsals and several performance opportunities during the year, these children learn musical and life skills. They learn to cooperate as a group, encouraging and motivating each other to reach their potential. Singers learn proper vocal technique, music reading skills, solfege, and performance and listening skills. Our super fun rehearsals include music games and activities, age-appropriate songs, and percussion instruments. |
