James Bay Community Chorus

Our Winter/Spring Season ends with a Family & Friends Musical Gathering on May 28th!

The James Bay Community Chorus exists to provide an opportunity for people to gather:  making music, learning new singing skills, maintaining and improving our vocal health, and having fun singing together. While we are not a performance choir, we enjoy sharing our music with others and during a season may perform at local seniors centers and on occasion, assist in leading music for the good people of James Bay United Church.

Christine Chepyha, our music leader, has been involved in choirs since her teens. She is the co-founder and co-director of the SingYourJoy Young Adult Chorus and currently co-leads the SYJ Kids Choirs. Creating music together with others in a fun and soul-soothing place is an important part of the James Bay Community Chorus, and we invite all ages to join us.

WE are grateful to James Bay United Church for providing a welcoming space for our weekly rehearsals (Wednesdays from 7pm to 8:30pm in the upstairs sanctuary space).

Plan to make singing part of your 2025 activities for you - our Fall Season will start on Wednesday, September 10th. Under the guidance of Christine Chepyha, this welcoming chorus invites all voices to come together in song. Experience enjoyable vocal exercises, uplifting music, and a sense of community as we sing in the beautiful Sanctuary.
