Story of Hilde’s Lenten Stole
I am very blessed to have several wonderfully creative folks in my life who have made Worship Stoles for me, over the years. My Lenten stole features a goblet with ‘juice of the vine’ pouring out. The final droplets resemble tears and blood. On the other side is a dark silhouette of a tree, with a stylized shadow of a cross, behind it. Notice the single green leaf on the tree. This speaks to new life and growth. On the back of the stole you will find bare branches with chrysalis hanging from them. Transformation and life wait for everyone on the Lenten journey. |

Peaceful Pilgrimage Walk for Gaza
On Saturday, March 16th, some Victoria Communities of Faith are hosting a Pilgrimage walk for peace around the city of Victoria. This will not be a rally! It will be a prayerful walk, and you are invited to walk whatever distance along the planned route that you are able to do, as a way to respond to the ongoing violence on the people in Gaza. James Bay United Church has been asked to host one of the stations 'a rest stop' for the walkers for a couple of hours around noon on Saturday. 1- If you are interested in learning more about this pilgrimage walk and perhaps participating in some way, follow this link. 2- If you could help host the rest-station or could carry the banner from Beacon Hill to Oak Bay United (4.5km) and need some more information, please contact Gordon directly. email: gilroymiller@gmail.com or FACEBOOK EVENT PAGE: https://bit.ly/3unrWpX For more infomation visit: http://jamesbayunited.com/news/peaceful-pilgrimage-walk-for-gaza

Inspiration and InvitationsPacific Mountain Regional Council Justice Ministry PIE Day is our National Affirming Day, where we Publicly, Intentionally, and Explicitly live out our call to Affirming Ministry and inclusion of 2SLGBTTQIA+ people in our communities, families, traditions and in our collective church life. PIE Day is officially on March 14th each year, but your PIE events can be held any time during the month of March. Join in on the movement, this can be part of your Affirming process, or it can be something to draw attention to this important movement within the church. The events can be large or small, the important thing is to consider how your community of faith can authentically live into Affirming Ministry and to then bring this affirming, welcoming and inclusive way of being out into the world.
