Let us introduce Natalia, our interim Communications Coordinator who will be filling in for Zunaira during her short maternity leave.
Natalia was born in Moldova and spent most of her life in Ukraine. Following the outbreak of war in Ukraine, she spent three years in Armenia – another country marked by tragic history and ongoing military threats – and now is rebuilding her life from scratch in the safe haven of Canada. Professionally, she's a senior communications lead with 18 years of experience managing public relations across 20 countries, some of which have significant political or military tensions with each other. It’s not a typical experience, but it certainly keeps her cosmopolitan and energized!
Natalia first learned about James Bay United Church through a local newspaper and decided to attend our Christmas Candlelight service. That unforgettable evening marked another dramatic turning point, as the welcoming church community quickly became her new family.
In addition to her new role and volunteer work at the church, Natalia continues to serve as an external Senior Communications Advisor for one of Europe’s largest tech companies. She also volunteers with James Bay Community Project and Wear2Start Society — her way of saying thank you and contributing to the community that has welcomed her with open arms and hearts.
