Victoria-born bassist Neil Swainson made a name for himself as one of the world’s finest bass players, performing, recording, and touring globally with pianist George Shearing, saxophonist Joe Henderson, pianist Renee Rosnes, vocalist Ernestine Anderson, and countless others.

Cole Ashley: A Special Workshop

Having spent the last several years studying at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, young saxophonist Cole Ashley has been a special guest at several concerts around the church this winter. We now invite him to take centre stage and share some of the approaches, concepts, and techniques that have helped him grow into one of the most respected young artists on the scene.

Admission by donation (suggested donation $10-$20, but all are welcome)

Kelby MacNayr Ensemble

On January 23, our very own Director of Arts Ministry, Kelby MacNayr, returns to the Max Cameron Theatre. Kelby — drummer, vocalist, and bandleader — brings his signature deep groove, sharp musical instincts, and infectious energy to the stage. He’ll be joined by John Hansen (piano), Steve Wallace (bass), Steve Kaldestad (saxophone), and Miguelito Valdes (trumpet) for an unforgettable night of jazz.
