Pablo Cardenas Plays the Cuban Piano Classics

Tuesday, August 4, 7:00–8:30 pm

While many community events take a summer break this time of year, there's one thing you can always count on: Tuesday Night Jazz at the Church.

If you're new to our church, here's a fun fact: long before we launched our Sunday Jazz Matinée series, Tuesday nights had already become a tradition. And if you ask founder and drummer Kelby MacNayr, it'll continue "every Tuesday, rain or shine, till the end of time."

This Tuesday, join us for Pablo Cardenas Plays the Cuban Piano Classics — an evening of spectacular music inspired by Cuba's rich and vibrant musical heritage.

Pianist, composer, and bandleader, Pablo Cardenas is a true maestro of music.

Born in Matanzas, Cuba, Cardenas studied classical piano from a young age through university, developing a deep appreciation for classical music from around the world as well as Cuba's extraordinary tradition of blending classical, folk, and other musical influences from across the Americas and beyond. A virtuoso pianist, Cardenas has been performing for more than a decade with longtime musical collaborators bassist Peter Dowse and drummer Kelby MacNayr.

Admission by donation (suggested donation: $20). Everyone is welcome, regardless of ability to pay.
