title Karen's sermons

title Karen's sermons

a fun game for all

Karen doesn't like titling her Sunday Morning messages, so often we just name them by the date or the day of the season -- like 'Easter 4' for example. But from time to time a title jumps out if we are there to listen -- like last week for example -- 'meeting Jesus will likely mess up your life'. Now SEE how much MORE FUN that is for our website and youtube channel?

So if you are inclined and a good listener, perhaps you could send along your suggestions for Karen's sermon titles. I will receive them on Mondays and pick one for when I update the website on Wednesday. It will be a fun surprise for Karen.

Sunday Worship

Sunday Worship

Easter 6 - Sunday, May 22, 2022

This week, we will meet IN PERSON AND ONLINE,

If you are tuning in at home, perhaps you could have a candle ready and a comfortable place to settle into the worship experience together.”

There are all kinds of ways we can experience paralysis that holds us back from entering more fully into life.  What might be come to light for us and be released through our gathering around the story from John’s Gospel this Sunday?  John 5: 1-9

“I See You!” The Power of Perception

“I See You!” The Power of Perception

Dr. Rev. Keith Howard

"I remember you," says the salesperson at the Hallmark store.

My brother collects Hallmark ornaments. He pours over the Hallmark Dream Book the way I used to scrutinize Eaton's Christmas catalogue. After a couple of weeks, he makes his selections. We note the items on the appropriate form and carry it to Victoria's last remaining Hallmark store.

The expedition always resembles an adventure. The rituals that come from his obsessive-compulsive disorder can introduce an element of unpredictability to his movements. Delicate figures perch in glass display cases. My brother walks with eyes down, head bent over, shoulders caved, the result of years of trying to avoid the stares and comments that began when he was five years old.
