Sunday WorshipPentecost Sunday - Sunday, May 28, 2023 Sunday, May 28th: 10:15AM - In-Person ONLY This Sunday “They were altogether in one place.” That’s how this Sunday’s story from scripture begins ... the story with its images of wind and fire, describing the dramatic experience of the disciples receiving the Holy Spirit. Echoing the transformative work of the Spirit at creation’s birth, this is the story of the birth of the church, the new community ... a people empowered to speak boldly and share generously, risk freely and care deeply across divides of language and culture, gender and status. Our celebration will pick up on it all, with a testimony and baptism, with table fellowship and soaring music (Jennifer with the choir will be in full voice, accompanied by Hanne Fair on flute, and Sandra Fletcher on piano). Given there will be no livestream of the service this Sunday, it is indeed a day to be altogether in one place. For those who are at all able to make it, I urge you to be part of this celebration in person. Rev. Karen Dickey Scripture: Acts 2: 1-21 NB: there will be no live stream of services from the JBUC Sanctuary on: Photo Credit: Peter Bauer from Pixabay For more infomation visit:

James Bay Children's Chorus in Concert!'Journey on' - Thursday, June 1, 2023 The James Bay Children's Chorus proudly presents 'Journey On' on Thursday, June 1st at 5pm. This fabulous group of young singers, started in 2017 by founder and artistic director Sandra Fletcher, has been working hard this year on an amazing array of songs. The group hosts two choirs - Inspire, for singers ages 6 to 11 - and Emerge, for those ages 11 to 16. One of the Inspire projects involved learning folk songs from their family's cultural heritage, in the original languages. Emerge singers present a variety of current pop and show tunes. Together the two groups will share their love of song with you in a delightful afternoon concert. Admission by donation.
