Michael is an organizer, activist, researcher, and writer who has led local and national campaigns on peace, justice, and environmental issues for over 40 years. In 2023, he co-founded Faith and Climate Action, a Toronto-based group focused on deepening the engagement of people of faith in climate activism. The group has trained hundreds of people in the theory and practice of nonviolent civil disobedience and has mobilized the voices of faith leaders across Canada in urging a transition away from fossil fuels.
