Welcoming Reverend Greg Powell
On behalf of the Board of Directors at JBUC, we are pleased to announce that the Reverend Greg Powell will be serving as our transitional supply minister for the next three months starting in April. He will be serving 25 hours/week with the option to extend his service upon mutual agreement. Reverend Powell will assist in managing and strengthening the administrative branch of JBUC with the goal of helping us perform at our best. Guaranteed Livable Incomeyour action is needed Please join the Moderator in writing to members of the Senate Standing Committee on National Finance, and urge them to support Bill S-233. As we understand it, Bill S-233 is one vote away from passing in committee. Time is of the essence, Senator Percy Mockler, the Chair of the Committee, who supports basic income, and has pushed for Bill S-233 to be studied and passed is 74 and turns 75 April 14, the mandatory age of retirement. And the incoming chair may not be as favourable. Sen Mockler can call a vote once he is confident in the votes.
