As Victoria’s Pride Day approaches on Sunday, July 6, 2025, our community is preparing to show up with love, colour, and commitment.

Here’s what’s coming up:

Sunday, June 8Pride Preparation Party
After Sunday Worship, we’ll gather to give our Pride doors a fresh and fabulous touch-up in time for Pride. It’s a fun and informal way to pitch in and brighten our space with love and welcome.

Sunday, June 15Pride Sunday Worship + Film Screening

We honour Pride with a special worship service celebrating diversity, justice, and inclusion: watch the video here.

Afterward, we’ll share soup and sandwiches and gather in the sanctuary for a 1:00 p.m. screening of The Fruit Machine—a powerful documentary on Canada’s LGBTQ2S+ history. Survivors of a decades-long homosexual witch-hunt recount their personal stories of dedication and betrayal at the hands of the Canadian government.

This screening is an important event in the life of the church and a unique opportunity to share a very front-facing LGBTQIA2S+ story. The film will be followed by time for conversation and reflection. Admission is by donation

Sunday, July 6Victoria Pride Parade + Community Fair
We’ll be marching in the Victoria Pride Parade — and we need 10 volunteers to walk with us!
We’ll also be staffing the United Church’s Pride Community Booth at the Pride Fair.

This is a meaningful time to come together, show support, and celebrate the sacred worth of every person. Whether you’re helping with decorations, serving lunch, or walking in the parade—your presence matters.
