With the help of local jazz legend Kelby MacNayr, James Bay United Church is bringing some of the best of the best in the Victoria jazz scene to the heart of James Bay ~ A venue without distractions ~ where the focus is you, the music and the sacred space to listen.

John Lee Trio

Celebrated multi-instrumentalist John Lee brings is working trio to Tuesday Night Jazz at the Church! An award-winning drummer, bassist, guitarist and pianist, Lee brings his depth of knowledge and respect for the tradition to the stage as he draws on the past and looks musically to the future. Deeply influenced by the greats of jazz piano, Lee brings the sound and feelings of the sparse compositional hipness of Ahmad Jamal, the virtuosity of Oscar Peterson and the full-bodied, rich sounds of McCoy Tyner into his selections.
