Tuesday September 3rd 7PM: Karel Roessignh Trio
Celebrated pianist Karel Roessignh has been a staple of the local jazz scene for over 3 decades. A player of unique sensibilities and enigmatic composition, Karel's playing is joyous, imaginative and compelling. Karel has written music for film, new-age albums, jazz trio and quartet as well as his most recent album "Birdsong" in which he crafts an album worth of music from a cross-counrty trip collecting bird song and using that as the jumping off point for stunningly original and beautiful music. In this trio performance, Karel reunites with long-time collaborator Kelby MacNayr and regular bassist Ryan Tandy for an evening of unique arrangements and composition.
