Dear friends,

Our Committee continues to work diligently with MP Will Greaves to help expedite the refugee family’s case, and try to get them to Canada and safety.

Unfortunately, their situation in Islamabad grows more precarious:

  • Education denied: the youngest 13-year-old son was told by his teacher that he should no longer attend school, as Pakistani officials have been coming regularly to remove Afghan children and their families. This is deeply disturbing, as every child has the right to an education.
  • Housing threats: as of September 1, 2025 all landlords in Pakistan have been instructed to evict Afghan refugees without valid visas, under threat of fines or detention.

Amid these challenges, we are pressing forward with advocacy, care, and preparation for their arrival.
