The KAIROS Blanket Exercise program is a unique, participatory history lesson – developed in collaboration with Indigenous Elders, knowledge keepers and educators – that fosters truth, understanding, respect and reconciliation among Indigenous and non-indigenous peoples.

Kairos Victoria, First Metropolitan United Church, and Aboriginal Neighbours are hosting a community two-hour Kairos Blanket Exercise on Sunday November 17, from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm.

Ticket prices are $15, $10 or $5, based on ability to pay. The funds raised will be used to cover the costs of holding the blanket exercise. Please feel free to come at noon and enjoy a bowl of soup for a small charge. Should you require financial assistance to attend this event, inquire about bursaries at First Met.
Deadline for Registration is Wednesday November 13, 2019.

We are grateful for the Lekwungen-speaking peoples upon whose traditional territories this event will take place. All our relations!
Littlewolf: "Prior to this exercise, it seemed Indigenous peoples were responsible to educate settlers about history. Now settler people have taken the lead in educating other settlers. This approach has greatly reduced the stress on Indigenous peoples to educate settlers and has allowed Indigenous peoples to work within our own communities."
