15th Annual Home for the Holidays Jam SessionTuesday Night Jazz at the Church and the Arts Ministry of James Bay United Church proudly presents the Home for the Holidays Jam Session! Now in its 15th year, the Home for the Holidays Jam Session is a Victoria favorite, featuring many of the city's renowned jazz artists and visiting musicians – local professionals and amateurs – in a celebration of community, joy, and musical inspiration! Hosted by renowned drummer Kelby MacNayr and featuring bassist Adrian Vedady and pianist Dr. Tony Genge. Admission by donation ($20 suggested donation; participating musicians free). |

The Victoria Jazz All-Stars Special New Year’s Matinee Concert! Join us for a Victoria tradition 14 years in the making! Victoria's jazz royalty join forces once a year to celebrate love, music, and community as we swing ourselves into a brand-new year! Featuring the incredible pianist and vocalist Ms. Louise Rose, the incendiary Cuban trumpet virtuoso Miguelito Valdes, the outrageous vocalist and drummer Kelby MacNayr, the lyrical saxophone of the great Roy Styffe, and very special guest, Montreal's own bassist Adrian Vedady! Tuesday, December 31st, at 7 PM Tuesday Night Jazz at the Church rings in the new year with the Pablo Cardenas Latin Jazz Explosion! Featuring the virtuoso Cuban pianist and maestro Pablo Cardenas at the helm of an all-star band featuring Colombian percussionist Nicolas Marcus, drummer extraordinaire Kelby MacNayr, and bassist Matisse Gubby-Hurtig! Maestro Pablo Cardenas has become one of the most respected jazz and Latin jazz specialists in the country. Respected equally for his virtuosity and pyrotechnics in performance as much as for his subtlety, nuance, and artistry. In this special concert, Pablo Cardenas assembles an all-star quartet to help us celebrate 2024 and welcome in the new year with an all-out Latin jazz party! Expect classics from the Cuban traditional repertoire and fresh new arrangements to delight the senses and set the feet moving!
