Attila Fias / Al Pease QuartetMay 12, 7:00–8:30 pm Join us for this special concert celebrating the music of early swing and jazz from the great Benny Goodman, Lester Young, Ben Webster, and countless others! Most commonly known for his virtuoso pianistic bravado and consummate band-leading — in everything from the music of Brazil to Led Zeppelin, from Hungarian folk music to the music of Herbie Hancock — Attila Fias turns his lens toward the swinging classic jazz and early jazz stylings of Victoria’s own consummate clarinettist, Al Pease. Clarinettist Al Pease is no stranger to Tuesday Night Jazz audiences. A regular favourite with band leaders such as Toni Blodgett, Kelby MacNayr, and Dan Lapp, Al has been beloved on the Victoria jazz scene for over 40 years as one of our finest clarinettists and tenor saxophonists. Joining Attila and Al in this special concert are renowned bassist Louis Rudner and swinging drummer Matt Pease.
