Hans Verhoeven Quartet

Hans Verhoeven Quartet

TUESDAY, May 19, 7:00–8:30 pm

Join us for a very special Tuesday Night Jazz featuring four of the West Coast’s most dynamic, accomplished, and compelling virtuosos!

The Hans Verhoeven Quartet brings together lyrical saxophonist Roy Styffe, virtuoso English pianist Nicolas Peck, brilliant and understated JUNO Award-winning bassist Ken Lister, and powerhouse drummer Hans Verhoeven at the helm.

Roy Styffe, Nick Peck, Ken Lister, and Hans Verhoeven create a mosaic of ideas and patterns that dances and shifts through a range of feelings, thoughts, and atmospheres. From soaring, ethereal melodies to low-down, funky street beats, this quartet bustles, floats, and shimmies its way through a range of compositions — from Charlie Parker to Kenny Wheeler and everything in between. Spontaneity, openness, endless possibilities, and lightning-fast responsiveness are the hallmarks of this crack team of collective improvisers.
