$1.5 million Capital Campaign Fall 2026/Winter 2027
James Bay United Church, planted from the seeds of a Methodist Sunday School, has been a spiritual home for people in the neighbourhood and beyond for 135 years. This Fall, James Bay United is asking you to invest in the future of this legacy by contributing to a capital plan that assures the long-term viability of the buildings and equipment we rely on daily to deliver programs and services ... an investment in the spiritual heart of your community.
Painting, and wood siding repairs have already started on our beloved Thrift Shop and scaffolding will soon be seen on the main building where extensive siding repairs will be needed and specialized wood treatment required to apply a long lasting finish deserving of the fine heritage building care for. Window repairs, heating and cooling modernization, electrical upgrades, and major renovations to our bathrooms, kitchen and other public spaces are on the list of things that urgently need attention.
We will need to rely on the whole community to achieve this goal. All we ask now, is that you become aware that your church at 511 Michigan St. in James Bay, Victoria BC is building for the future. With hundreds of small donations combined with major leadership gifts and gifts of stocks and securities we can do this together.
