The James Bay United Church Thrift Shop is in the heart of the neighbourhood, with the James Bay Community Project a few doors away, South Park Elementary School up the block, New Horizons Centre around the corner and shops, homes, apartments and government offices just steps from our door. The Shop is a gathering place where friends, neighbours and newcomers, office and construction workers, young and old meet and visit while they find great items at very reasonable prices. Family news, significant conversations, chats about the weather, the thrill of finding just the right thing, shared bewilderment at the usefulness or beauty of an interesting item - all are part of the buzz of the place. Customers and volunteers come to care about each other and look forward to their weekly connections.
