Our well-loved vespers service is back! Vespers is holy time. Using the sacred languages of silence, word, symbol, and song, each service offers inspiration, contemplation, and the opportunity to prayerfully examine the week. The ancient practices of expressing gratitude, seeking forgiveness, and offering concerns for ourselves and the world release our burdens into God's tender care and ourselves into a night of peace and rest.
The Beatitudes Series; over the coming weeks, we will be wondering about the famous sayings of Jesus called the Beatitudes. On a hillside, surrounded by a diverse group of ordinary people, Jesus spoke revolutionary words - words that evoked blessing, belonging and happiness to the lost, the broken and hopeless. The Kin-dom of God was breaking into the world!
8pm to 9pm in the James Bay United Church Sanctuary, offered by the Congregation of Fairfield United Church.
Everyone is most welcome.
