We’re thrilled to share that our very own Jennifer Turner, Music Minister at James Bay United Church, will be the featured soprano in Bach in Love — a charming outdoor concert presented by Victoria Baroque on Saturday, August 30th at 2:30 pm at the beautiful Goward House.

In this intimate garden setting, Jennifer will sing some of the most tender and joyful pieces by J.S. Bach and Henry Purcell, including selections from Bach’s Notebook for Anna Magdalena, his beloved Wedding Cantata, and Purcell’s expressive theatrical works like The Fairy Queen and Sweeter than Roses. The program is steeped in love and longing, perfect for a serene late-summer afternoon.

She’ll be joined by a talented ensemble of period musicians: Kathryn Wiebe (violin), Natalie Mackie (gamba), and Christina Hutten (harpsichord), all performing on historical instruments to bring these baroque gems to life.

Come early at 2:00 pm to enjoy the gardens. The concert begins at 2:30 pm — and weather permitting, it will be held outdoors, so bring your blanket or lawn chair.

Let’s gather to celebrate Jennifer — not just as our gifted music minister, but as an artist who brings heart, beauty, and spirit to every note she sings. We couldn’t be more proud!
