People experience James Bay United Church as a warm and caring community largely because of the way pastoral care happens organically – people notice each other and readily reach out in care. The minister offers pastoral care in response to a variety of circumstances, and when specific needs arise, others are called on to offer support – meals, visits, healing pathway treatments, transport, grocery shopping. In addition there are a group of people who have their list of people to connect with regularly. Others are sending cards and making phone calls.
