This Sunday

What metaphor would you come up with to describe who you are/ what you are about in the world? What do you notice when you consciously “wear it” for an hour, a whole day?  What does it call out of you, or does it diminish you in some way that you realize it’s not true after all?  Jesus ventures two metaphors (and likely more) to describe the people he’s speaking to: salt of the earth ... light of the world. We’ll reflect on what he was likely getting at as we come together on Sunday ... and then see what happens as we head into the week letting those inform our identity, our way of being.

Our worship each Sunday is intended to be a collective experience, a communal practice.

We might step into whatever is our sanctuary, each one of us as individuals, and yet as we assemble, from wherever we are, we become a people, drawn together through song and prayer, through word and ritual, and through the Spirit who breathes through it all, through us all.

One and the same Spirit uniting us breathing us into life!
