We want to share a candid update on the Afghan family our congregation is sponsoring.

The situation for Afghan refugees in Pakistan continues to deteriorate. In the area where the family is living, authorities have resumed door-to-door searches, and deportations are increasing. For safety reasons, the family now limits leaving their home, as even routine trips outside carry risk. This is a frightening and deeply unstable situation, particularly for families with children.

In response, members of our sponsorship group and the church have intensified advocacy efforts. Letters have been sent to municipal and provincial elected officials, asking for their assistance and support in engaging federal colleagues and immigration officials. We continue to work closely with our Sponsorship Agreement Holder and Members of Parliament to press for action and keep this case visible.

We remain committed to this family and to doing everything we can to support their safe arrival in Canada.

We invite the congregation to hold this family in prayer—for safety and protection in the days ahead, for courage and hope amid uncertainty, and for wisdom, compassion, and urgency among those with the power to act.

Your continued prayers, encouragement, and patience are deeply appreciated. We will share further updates as soon as we are able.
